Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you sign in and which giveaways you enter, we may collect:

  • Discord: your Discord ID, username, avatar, email address, and the list of Discord servers you belong to — the server list is used only to verify giveaway requirements.
  • GitHub: your GitHub ID, username, avatar, and email address.
  • Google / YouTube: your Google account ID, name, email, and profile picture. If a giveaway requires a YouTube action, we also access your YouTube subscription and video-rating (like) status — see section 4.
  • Account & activity: a password (hashed) if you set one, your profile details, your giveaway entries, and any points you earn.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to authenticate you, verify eligibility for giveaways, run and display entries and winners, and communicate with winners. Giveaway organizers can see the entrants and winners of their own giveaways, including username, Discord ID, and email, for the purpose of delivering prizes.

3. What we don't do

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising. Your Discord server list and YouTube data are used only at the moment of verification and are not shared with third parties beyond what is necessary to operate the Service.

4. YouTube & Google API Services

Where a giveaway requires a YouTube action (subscribing to a channel or liking a video), FiveAway uses YouTube API Services to verify that you have completed it. By connecting your Google account for this purpose, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Scope we request

We request read-only access via the youtube.readonly scope. This is the least-privileged scope that allows us to check the requirement. We never request write access, and we cannot post, upload, edit, or delete anything on your YouTube account or channel.

What we access and why

  • Your subscription status for a specific channel a giveaway requires (via the YouTube Data API subscriptions resource).
  • Your like/rating status for a specific video a giveaway requires (via the videos resource).

What we store

We store only a boolean result — whether the requirement was met — against your giveaway entry. We do not store, display, sell, or share your subscription lists, watch history, liked-video lists, or any other YouTube content. We store Google OAuth tokens solely to perform these checks on your behalf; they are used for no other purpose.

Retention and revocation

You can disconnect your Google account at any time from your FiveAway account settings, and you can revoke FiveAway's access directly through Google at myaccount.google.com/permissions. When access is revoked, we delete the stored Google tokens associated with your account. FiveAway's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and entry data while your account is active and as needed to operate giveaways. You may request deletion of your data through your community's FiveAway organizer, or by disconnecting the relevant accounts in your settings.

6. Third-party services

FiveAway relies on Discord, GitHub, and Google for authentication; on Google/YouTube API Services for YouTube verification; on Cloudflare R2 for file storage; and, where enabled, on AI providers to power the assistant. Their handling of data is governed by their own privacy policies.
